Linda Johnson was a long time member of U.A.W. Local #2093. She was a huge supporter of the U.A.W All-Star track meet and her husband Van's track teams at Dowagiac. Linda's two sons, Van and Ryan, both ran on their dad's highly successful Chieftain's track teams.
Linda lost a courageous battle to a terminal illness in 2003 and the U.A.W. Local #2093 wanted to honor her memory by dedicating these scholarships to her. Money is raised throughout the year leading up to this meet by having 50/50 drawings, holding golf tournaments, and hosting alumni dinners.
Each year, two participants from the all-star track meet will receive a $500 scholarship donated in Linda's name by the U.A.W.
